Auld Reekie Roller Derby fans can find all upcoming games on Facebook and Twitter. We’re immensely proud of our lively, friendly and inclusive fan base – whether you want to come cheer us on in person or to chat with us and fellow fans online, you’ll find a warm welcome here.
Want to get involved in roller derby? We have a load of options!
Skate with us
We offer a comprehensive 10 week Protostar programme which gives you all of the basics to begin your roller derby journey – from total beginners, to those of you with a little experience on skates. Find out more HERE or you can join our Facebook ‘information’ group HERE.
Already skate with another league, and looking to transfer to Auld Reekie Roller Derby? Contact us for more information or with any questions.
Officiate with us
We love us some officiating!! We always need referees and non-skating officials (NSOs) to help keep us on the straight and narrow and to gather up stats for us to learn from.
Already got experience officiating? You are welcome to come along to our scrimmage sessions to help out. Email: officials@auldreekierollerderby.com
Want to learn how to officiate? We’ll teach you! Get in touch.
Volunteer with us
Want to get involved but don’t want to skate or officiate? No problem! We have lots of incredibly valuable non-skating members who help out in committees and on game days and are always happy to welcome new faces. Email: board@auldreekierollerderby.com
Photograph us
Are you an aspiring or established photographer wanting to add to your portfolio? We love to be photographed! Get in touch with communications@auldreekierollerderby.com to chat about coming along to a game or training session.
Stat with us
Roller derby is all about the complicated but fascinating stats! We always need stat geeks trackside and at the bench. Want to bring your stat skills to the yard, or learn from those already statting? Get in touch! Email: coaches@auldreekierollerderby.com
Announce with us
We need announcers for all our games – ideally two! Announcers all have different approaches and styles, but in essence they explain the sport, commentate on the game, keep the audience excited and, importantly, run Chuck a Duck at half time. All you need is a love of the sport, a willingness to learn, and the ability to keep talking! Enquire at: events@auldreekierollerderby.com
Cheer us on
Nothing makes us skate harder and faster than a noisy crowd. The only requirement is volume, and the inability to clap along to ‘Auld Reekie You’re So Fine.’ (Although there is a handy guide pictured below, if you want to practice.) All our games are family friendly and feature the all-important merch, cakes, raffle and duck chucking. Find out about our upcoming games HERE.
Support us
None of the above apply to you? There are lots of other ways to support us! As a not-for-profit club, we are incredibly grateful for any financial support – find out how to donate HERE.
And we are always on the lookout for new spaces to practice and host games in…so if you happen to have an old warehouse or hangar gathering dust, that would comfortably fit a 23 x 33m roller derby track plus an audience, then get in touch!
