Get On Track to Roller Derby

Ready to give roller derby a whirl? Join our beginner sessions and become a Protostar skater!

We’ll keep you safe and teach you all of the basics in a staged programme designed by our experienced coaches. Progress through different stages and learn how to play the most fun sport in the world.

Joining Protostars gives you access to two skate sessions per week, during which, we’ll guide you through the rules of the game, and the basics of officiating so you can choose your pathway into the sport. We accept anyone from absolute beginners, to those who have skated a ton before.  Our sessions also offer a fun space to practice roller derby and skate skills recreationally with no pressure.

2020 Intake (joining) dates for our Protostar sessions are:

  • 26th July
  • 30th August

If you’re ready to jump in and join us, the first session is free! All you have to do is complete this sign up form in advance.

Once you’ve attended the first session, we’ll let you know how to join officially.  For a regular monthly payment of £30, you will get access to 2 sessions per week and all of our coaching resources.  If you don’t enjoy it, there’s no pressure to stay!

Auld Reekie Roller Derby is open to anyone aged 18 and over, with no maximum age limit.

In line with the Women’s Flat Track Roller Derby Association Gender Policy, all those who identify as women, trans women, intersex women and/or gender-expansive may train and compete as skaters of Auld Reekie Roller Derby if women’s flat track roller derby is the version and composition of roller derby with which they most closely identify. All genders may train as skating and non-skating officials, and join as non-skating members in other capacities.
