Auld Reekie Roller Derby’s All Stars are taking on the Kiltwalk for Mermaids!

Mermaids is a UK charity working to support transgender, non-binary and gender diverse children, young people and their families. Mermaids’ vision is a safe, inclusive society where trans children and young people are empowered to live their best lives.

Auld Reekie Roller Derby, and the wider roller derby community, strives to be a safe space for people of marginalised identities. Trans and gender diverse people are at the heart of this community.

We are fighting for a better world for trans youth!

Every donation made through Just Giving will allow Mermaids to support more young trans people, giving them the freedom to explore their gender identity and thrive.

We at Auld Reekie Roller Derby are devastated by today’s UK Supreme Court decision. We want to send out our love and support to the trans community and reaffirm that trans women, alongside skaters of all marginalised genders, are welcome and safe with us.

On the 6th April 2008, a few folk who’d heard of a thing called ‘roller derby’ met in an Edinburgh pub to talk about it. 17 years later… here we are!!
