New Member Introduction

Post by ZILLAH » Mon Oct 26, 2009 8:37 am

WELCOME TO THE AULD REEKIE ROLLER GIRLS!!

Auld Reekie Roller Girls promote an inclusive environment, and we are welcoming and accessible to everyone. We are a dynamic community that is supportive and inclusive in a competitive environment, in which skaters, officials and non-skating members can be the best they can be.

In this 'New Member Pack' you will hopefully find all the information you need to see yourself through and to understand everything.

If you have any questions, there are a few key people that are always here to help you:

Co-Chairs: LuPaul and Temple of Doom
Spokesey Board members:Princess Die and Kirds n Slay
Team Captains: Skinner Alive and Lilo and Stitches
New Skater Committee contact: LL Cool Gay (spokesperson)

email board@arrg.co.uk with any questions!

PRACTICE TIMES ARE AT:

NEW SKATERS: Start their very first practice at a "Fresh Meat Sunday" (details in this section under 'fresh meat sunday' topic)

email newskaters@arrg.co.uk to register your interest

How much?
The first session is £5.
After that, we require all new skaters to either pay £80 up front or £20 monthly standing order.

*After this initial introduction practice you are welcome to join us on Sundays until you have passed your WFTDA Minimum skills assessment. You will be taking part in a 14 week training session to help you graduate fully. After you have finished your 14 week training you have the option of being a recreational skater, a competitive skater, or a referee. You will then be able to attend Sunday intermediate practice, Wednesday intermediate practice and, if you have chosen a competitive membership, Friday scrimmage practice*

(*after a 6 week 'settling in' period, you will be assessed for Fridays, if you want to be!)

Once you have passed your full WFTDA standards, passed a rules test, have a standing order, signed some exciting things the you are a full member of ARRG.

ALL new skaters (that's recreational, competitive and fresh meat) are encouraged to come to Friday Scrims to learn NSO (non-skating official) jobs like penalty tracking, penalty box timing, scoreboard etc, and see how the game is played.
